Its all about gigging!

Gigging has to be one of the most rewarding things you can do in life. Get up in front of worshiping, slavering punters and deliver unto them some righteous power chords and solos. Yeaaahhhh!!!

But how?

Well first you have to make some decisions on how you want to go about playing in front of people. Look, I know what I said above may seem a bit over the top, but it does apply in some cases. If, for instance you want to play in a metal band (solos are very rarely used these days in any other form of music, come on guys and gals, step up and rip a solo) then this would apply.

I also know personally one truly great guitarist who blows me away performing shows on his own, with his own material, pre-recorded on backing tracks and plays and sings over the top of these, and he is superb to watch. Another solo artist friend simply gigs with an Acoustic Guitar used as accompaniment.

So it's not just for a full band. In this section we'll take a look at all the options of playing in a band, whether that is performing live as a one man band, a 2 Piece (or duet), or a full 4 or 5 piece band.

We'll also look at how to go about playing in more than one band including cross-pollination of set-lists (cool!), and of course some of the gear required to carry it out successfully! And, for good measure we'll look at some other revenue streams for the poor, struggling guitarist.

So keep a look out for this section as more articles and topics are added. In time you will find some very useful information that could lead you to playing in a band, or performing solo AND gaining a second income, something that in these days we all could do with!!
